# What are Organizations?

Use Organizations to manage your team

Every PairSpaces user has their own organization. You can use Organizations to
add people to your Spaces and to choose which subscription plan works for you.
You can also join other users' Organizations.

## Your Organization

When you create a PairSpaces account - for yourself or by accepting an invitation -
an Organization is created automatically and you become the owner of the Organization.
If you join by accepting an invitation you will also be added to the Organization that
invited you.

You can view all the Organizations that you belong to from the `Organizations` listbox.

### Organizations list

The Organizations list identifies the current Organization and shows the Organizations that you own or have joined.

[View the interactive example on the canonical documentation page](https://docs.pairspaces.com/getting-started/what-organizations)

The Organization you own is indicated with a filled icon (filled Organization icon).
The Organizations you are a member of are indicated with an outline icon (outline Organization icon).

## Organization Roles

An Organization Owner manages everything in the Organization - Spaces, Members, and Billing - and
is the only role that can delete the Organization.

When inviting people to your Organization, you can choose from three roles:

- `Admin`. The administrator role provides read and write access to Spaces and Members.

- `Billing`. The billing role provides read access to Billing and can access invoices only.

- `Member`. The member role provides read and write access to Spaces.
